Beyond The Behavior
Friday, March 27, 2026
10:00 – 11:00am
1 CE credit provided
Hosted by: Shoshie Askren, LCSW
Children who exhibit disruptive, impulsive, or ADHD-like behaviors often evoke strong reactions from their caregiver, teachers and clinicians alike. This course is designed for therapists seeking practical, evidence-based interventions to support children who struggle with emotion regulation, attention, compliance and behavioral control, while also strengthening the adult systems around them. We will focus on a family systems-informed approach, with discussion around how to involve caregivers in treatment for the most effective interventions. Participants will learn developmentally attuned, trauma-informed strategies for assessing and intervening with children exhibiting externalizing behaviors. Using case examples and experiential tools, this course will help clinicians move from "fixing the child" to working with the family system as a whole, empowering caregivers to become more effective agents of regulation and change.

Navigating the Inner Landscape
Thursday, April 2, 2026
12:00 – 1:30pm
1.5 CE credits provided
Hosted by: Rachael Berg-Martinez, PhD., PMH-C
During Dr. Berg-Martinez’s presentation, Navigating the Inner Landscape: Countertransference and Clinical Decision-Making in Trauma Treatment, she will provide an overview of forms of transference, countertransference, and enactments generally and specifically in trauma therapy, integrating the latest research. Dr. Berg-Martinez will support clinicians in increasing their awareness of their own attachment-based tendencies that might contribute to countertransference and work to leverage the internal and relational processes common in trauma treatment. She will review the clinical implications of such enactments in trauma therapy more broadly and in premature terminations specifically.
